Octagon Signs US Soccer and Gotham FC Star Brianna Pinto

Octagon has signed US Soccer and Gotham FC star, Brianna Pinto. She will be represented by Eddie Pope and Mike Senkowski, Co-Directors of Octagon’s North American Soccer division. Octagon will also be representing Trinity Rodman who was the number 2 selection in the 2021 NWSL Draft.

Pinto was the third-overall selection in the 2021 NWSL Draft by Gotham FC. The 5’5″, forward is from Durham, North Carolina where she attended high school at Charles E. Jordan. She played one year of high school soccer before concentrating on her club and national team commitments. During her high school years, she was the 2015 North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America Selection, Pac 6 Player of the Year, as well as, All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State honoree. She played with CASL ECNL as midfielder and forward from 2014-2017. She was the youngest player in the modern era to make a tournament roster for the senior women’s national team at She Believes Cup in March 2017. She was featured in Sports Illustrated Faces in the Crowd in July 2015 and also featured in May 2018 issue of Sports Illustrated for Kids as a women’s soccer honoree.

At the University of North Carolina, Pinto was one of the best freshman in the country. She was rewarded with membership on Top Drawer Soccer Postseason Freshman Best XI Team. She was awarded First Team All-ACC selection for three straight years. Pinto was one of five finalists for the 2019 US Soccer Young Female Player of the Year Award. During her collegiate career, she ranked fourth nationally and second in the ACC for the game winning goals in her junior season, and was named a member of the All-Tournament Team at the ACC Tournament in 2018.

Off-the-field, Pinto has gained recognition through her work advocating for young players, including winning a seat on the US Soccer Federation’s Athlete Council in October 2020, with a goal of diversifying the federation’s leadership in age and culture. With this election, Pinto became the first Black member of the council.

Octagon has a strong history in women’s professional soccer. In addition to representing multiple players and standouts across the sport for more than two decades, they have also announced a multi-tiered, exclusive media rights and marketing consulting partnership with the NWSL. As part of the partnership, Octagon’s Global Media Rights Consulting division successfully negotiated a landmark broadcast deal between the NWSL and CBS Sports and Twitch.
